Kantha is a traditional stitch done in West Bengal where line after line of thread is stitched across the length of a recycled saree material. Our Kantha Quilts are 6 layers of recycled saree. Unlike our Kantha Throws where the front and back of the blanket are made of one piece of saree, the front of our Kantha Quilts are pieces of 3 coordinating sarees machine stitched together. The back is a 4th coordinating saree. Our women meticulously sort through piles of sarees to find just the right ones to use for these beautiful quilts before stitching and layering them up to send to the women who will kantha stitch them. These quilt are great to use as a blanket or covering on twin, full and queen beds. They are not only unique and colourful, but they are amazingly soft and empower the women who make them to help support their families!

Measurements: Approximately 72x80in and 6 layers thick of recycled saree

Material: Recycled Saree Fabric - You will notice that your blanket is already well loved, displaying patches and small imperfections. That is what we love about these blankets, that they bear the patches of the women who loved them first! And every new stitch tells the story of a women who is helping break the cycle of poverty for her family and community by using her skills to help provide for her family.

Care Instructions: Wash gently. Tumble Dry. Love Well.
